A story about relationships that spans across three decades, “Butterfly Dreams” explores the different nature of love in its most touching form. A 30 –year hidden family secret, an ill fated love that cannot be fulfilled and a forever longing love and passion for the arts that seeks to bind the hearts of young people of “Dream Company”. “ Dream Company” will experience a more tumultuous ride in their quest of their love for the arts in the face of the current economic crisis. Are they able to weather through these challenges and emerge to be stronger than before? Continuing from the immensely popular dance musical,” Love on Stage (2008),” “Butterfly Dreams” promises more heart stirring songs, touching story and uniquely stylized dance performance by DES Arts. Led by Artistic Director, Mdm Yan Choong Lian, this production promised a highly creative cast of local talents from the different genres of performing arts. Directed by Ms Lim Hai Yen, Creative Director of ETCeteras, with music and lyrics written by multi talented veteran local singer song writer Jiu Jian (Private Part/December Rain) and will involve the stellar cast of former StarSearch winner and current Mediacorp actor Nick Shen (Movie “I Not Stupid”, “Money Not Enough” ,“Own Time Own Target 08” ), as well as theatre veteran, Ms Catherine Wong ( If There’re Seasons 07/09, The Soldier and His Virtues Wife).
